U3A NORTHAMPTON

GROUP NEWS January 2012

We would like to start by expressing our congratulations to Mavis Jackson, Arthur Tart and Christine Teulon for their superb contributions to the current issue of Resources.

Everyone in our Northampton U3A must have felt really proud to read not 1 but 3 contributions in this prestigious publication.

Thank you for putting Northampton well and truly on the map.

The New Year brings lots of new members which means that some groups may be full.   If you have difficulty in getting into a group please contact us and we will endeavour to set up new groups.

This is ‘your’ U3A so your help is very much needed – you won’t be on your own as we will give you lots of assistance – We need Group Leaders for additional groups such as PLAY READING, PHILOSOPHY, ART WORKSHOP, FRENCH CONVERSATION.

Please can you help?

NEW GROUPS

Chatty Coffee Morning – Sandra Leeson or Catherine Foulger

The new group will meet fortnightly in a town centre location where tea/coffee are readily available to purchase.

This is an opportunity to meet with other U3A Members in a sociable way.

Discussion 3 – Gill Horrell

This new group will be held monthly on the 4th Monday of the month at 2.00pm at the leader’s home.

Topics for discussion are agreed and circulated in advance, so members can give some thought to these.

Each topic will be briefly introduced by a member of the group, to get the discussion going.

Topics range from serious to more light hearted and members can share views in a friendly atmosphere.

Flower Arranging – Judy Rowen

The new Flower Group will meet at the leader’s home on  4th Monday of the month between 2pm and 3.30.

The idea is to make an arrangement using a few tricks of the trade.
