Play & Poetry Readings

Play Reading

Leader: Margaret Gilham

We are a small group of seven people.

The meetings are held weekly at members homes.

We meet every Wednesday morning at 10am - 11:30am.

We select a play from the Library for a small charge, for three weeks duration.

The parts are cast at the meeting and we read through, trying to keep in character - accents prove more difficult !!

It is most enjoyable and keeps us in touch with plays, both old and new.

Those of us who have been active in Amateur Dramatics in the past, find it a good extension to acting, which is something we can no longer do - It's the memory you know !

We have a short coffee break and a chat and thoroughly enjoy our morning.

Should anyone wish to join, please ring the Leader. When we have enough members, we will then endeavour to form a second group.

A mixture of Play and Poetry Readings for all to enjoy

Experience is NOT necessary but a willingness to get stuck in and have a go IS  essential.

Our Group of eight people meets on the 1st & 3rd Thursday morning of each month at 10.30am.  We hire our plays both period and modern from the Library and getting into character is proving to be enjoyable and great fun.

Our poetry sessions will normally revolve around a selected topic for that particular meeting and as with the plays, with such an abundance of authors and topics to choose from, the well should not run dry.  We also enjoy a tea/coffee break and a chat at which the conversation flows in abundance.
