We have now come to the end of our 2011 programme in which we have learned
a great deal about various villages around, and specific areas of Northampton.
We have made several visits to villages still present, and Piddington mostly hidden under grassy knolls.
We have learned about the lives of the good, William Carey, and the bad Robert Caresby, and our murdered Prime Minister Spenser Peveral
We finished our year with a visit
to the store room of the Museum and rummaged to our heart's content.
2012 will start on the 18th January with a photograph session. Brian has been out and about wih his camera and we are going to use the results as a starting point for discussion, reminiscence and observation.
February and April will be taken up with aspects of the shoe and related trades, maybe from a personal perspective, if possible, or of a general
interest, eg labour relations, disputes, fashion, buidings etc.
March we will be having a visit to Spratton Church and a guided tour of the
village.
This is the day of the branch lunch so will end by 11.30 or so.
New members welcome.
Bridge Club, 3rd Wednesday, 10.00 - noon.
